Dairy Intake May Not Mean Much For Longevity: Study |
FaceBook Post by Dr. Palevsky

DR PALEVSKY’S COMMENTS: It is important to clarify a few things about dairy and this study. First of all, fermented dairy, like yogurt and sour cream, are much easier on the digestive system mostly because these foods are fermented. Secondl...y, before we go ahead and say eating dairy poses no greater effect on longevity, we must pay closer to attention to the type of dairy the Dutch might have been eating, which wasn't discussed in the article. In most countries around the world, cows are farmed to produce A2 casein milk. Humans have an easier time digesting and incorporating A2 casein milk into their bodies without harmful health effects. Cows farmed in the US, however, contain predominantly A1 casein milk, which has been found to increase Type 1 diabetes, heart disease, coronary artery disease and inflammation in animal studies. I recommend readers take a look at the work of Keith Woodford out of New Zealand, who wrote a very important book called, "The Devil in the Milk." Readers will see that not all milks are the same, and not all milk products are as safe for human consumption as we are led to believe. Cow milk is for baby cows anyway.
